Your California Privacy Rights

Applicability

This page applies to California residents and supplements our Privacy Policy. It describes your rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) and California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA). If you are located outside California, you may still exercise these rights and we will respond in good faith.

Personal information we collect

We collect the following categories of personal information when you use Hirelytic:

Identifiers: email address (for sign-in); hashed IP address for abuse prevention (SHA-256 with salt, raw IP is never stored).
Employment-related information: resume/CV content you upload, job descriptions, target roles.
Internet activity: analysis history, plan usage, session cookies.
Commercial information: plan and purchase records.

How we use this information

Solely to deliver the resume/CV optimization service you requested, prevent abuse, and handle billing. We do not sell your personal information, we do not share it with third parties for cross-context behavioral advertising, and we do not use it to train AI models.

“Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information”

Hirelytic does not sell or share your personal information. Our business model is simple: users pay subscription or one-time fees; we never monetize data. This disclosure is required by the CCPA; no action is needed on your part to opt out.

Your CCPA rights

Right to know: request a copy of the personal information we hold about you. Use the “Export my data” button on your dashboard to download a JSON file of your account.
Right to delete: request deletion of your data. Use “Delete my account” on your dashboard; we process requests within 7 days.
Right to correct: request correction of inaccurate data through our contact form.
Right to limit use of sensitive personal information: we do not use sensitive personal information for purposes beyond delivering the service.
Right to non-discrimination: you will not be denied service, charged a different price, or receive a lesser product for exercising your rights.

Retention

Uploaded resume/CV files are automatically deleted after 30 days. Account metadata is retained until you request deletion. Hashed IP entries are purged after 180 days.

Authorized agents

You may designate an authorized agent to submit a CCPA request on your behalf by providing written permission signed by you and, where reasonably required, verifying your identity directly.
